3 Responses to New Logo – Good ? Bad?

In the nicest and friendliest possible way, not great.

There is too much going on with the three elements. It’s not balanced, or something is not working.

    Pay a designer.

Also, I am also really disappointed you moved to the new name.

I really like this blog because the commentary is always insightful or unique.

But this obsession with generic names in the industry is shortsighted and just plain silly, in a branding sense. For example have you ever heard of anyone in the business paying huge dollars for a name like “domainname.com”? All it does is make you get lost in the crowd.

Would you change GoDaddady (the silliest name of them all) to DomainName? Did Coca-Cola change their name to “softdrinks.com”? Would they?

isquatedyoureu was a parody, of course. But you have changed from a name that made you stand out from the crowd, and reflected an attitude, or some character, to a name that makes you invisible and sound boring. Now, apparently, you are trying to look boring as well. And with a .me extension???

    Sorry, you asked for feedback.

And, again, sincerely, In the nicest and friendliest possible way!!

    Thanks for the feedback.

General consensus on that logo wasn’t that positive, so I’ll be asking the designer to come up with a couple of alternatives.

As for the name change ..

The original domain was a play on words which was appropriate at the time – especially as I started off posting about a specific TLD and its shortcomings ..

I honestly don’t think that it really is appropriate now, though who knows, maybe I’ll change it again in a few months :)

    Thanks for your feedback

    Michele

Still a fan of the old name, brings a smile to my face every time I hear it.

Regarding the logo, I bet a touch of Irish green would look good in there.
