Centralnic sell subdomains, which is what could be causing confusion.
So, for example, if someone had trademark.uk.com then Network Solutions etc., wouldn’t know about it. You need to talk to Centralnic directly

Please could somebody tell me who ran CentralNic, before Nov 21, 2011.

I have a trademark dispute, that was purchased via Enom and they refer me to CentralNic.

Having looked at IANA ‘root’ the closest I cam to .uk.com, was .com managed by VeriSign. VeriSign told me that Network Solutions manage CentralNic, however, Network Solutions deny a relationship. In the Whois, CentralNic, is registered by Network Solutions.

If somebody could help me figure out who licensed CentralNic, to sell Domain names, via Enom, I’d be delighted for the info.

The only price increases I’m aware of are those coming from the domain registries – not from ICANN.

This is definitely a controversial topic. ICANN’s reputation isn’t exactly stellar. With all of the money they are generating and the yearly price hikes they haven’t done much to help with much of anything. It looks like they might actually be facing the music fairly soon. Hopefully this will spark some big changes.
