Nominet Board Elections Results 2009

Nominet has announced the results of the 2009 board election for non-executive directors.

The three directors elected were:

  • Clive Grace
  • Nora Nanayakkara
  • Jonathan Robinson

According to the announcement only 16.41% of Nominet members voted (455 members)

  1. The comment that 16.41% of members voted is perhaps misleading – I think it’s probably better to quote the full sentence:

    16.41% of the electorate and 5,754,949 votes
    were cast, 63.90% of the total number of votes.

    As I’m sure you’re aware, tag holders that have a larger portfolio have more votes and more weight. It’s probably the case that those that didn’t vote at all are small scale holders, or dormant tags, perhaps.

    Admittedly, it’s certainly not good, by any measure – but I think the more telling figure is the 63.9%.

    Swings and roundabouts, perhaps.
