IEDR Hire New Staff

IEDR have announced via an email to their registrars two new hires:

  • Customer Operations Manager
  • Financial Controller

The roles were previously held by one person, Angela Butler, who not only ran both areas of the IEDR’s business, but also acted as the organisation’s number 2.

Ms Butler announced her departure from IEDR a couple of months ago, which led to IEDR announcing several vacancies. The role of “Registration Services Administrator” doesn’t appear to have been filled yet.

The two new hires are both from Irish internet companies, with Oonagh McCutcheon joining as Customer Operations Manager and Patrick Bates as Financial Controller:

Oonagh McCutcheon joins us from Elucidate, where she was CEO and before that, Head of Operations since 2007. Elucidate was a digital marketing company with a blue-chip client base from a range of sectors including retail, medical, transport, tourism, associations and institutions, food, technology and recruitment. In addition, Elucidate has worked on significant government initiatives including the An Post digital strategy for 2016. Prior to Elucidate, Oonagh was Chief Operating Officer of Transware Ltd (now WeLocalize) for seven years, which is a leading e-learning localisation company, providing translation, engineering and content development services to many of the world’s largest e-learning content companies. Oonagh is particularly passionate about customer success management and she will play a key role in implementing IEDR’s ongoing plans to enhance Registrars’ customer experience.

As you may know, Elucidate has been a long-term Service Provider to our very successful OPTIMISE program and Elucidate assisted the IEDR in the redesign of the corporate website and associated messaging, and so Oonagh knows IEDR, the industry and our modus operandi very well.

Patrick Bates joins us from Webtrade, a full service web design, web development and digital marketing solutions company, and of course, one of the main IEDR accredited registrars. Patrick has over 14 years experience between Financial Controller and Managing Director roles with Webtrade, He has excellent knowledge of the domain registration and renewal process, and was responsible for managing the setup of Webtrade’s internal systems to integrate and automate domain name billing and renewals, He is a member of Chartered Accountants Ireland and the Irish Taxation Institute.

IEDR recently introduced 1 and 2 letter domain names, which are currently in sunrise.
