RIPE Publish 2015 Law Enforcement Requests

RIPE NCC logo (2015 version)

RIPE NCC has published information related to law enforcement requests they got during 2015.

In total they got:

8 requests

None of the requests came with a court order (or similar) from a Dutch court. RIPE is a Dutch entity, so subject to Dutch law.

What of the requests themselves?

They fall into two categories:

  1. Information that is public
  2. Information that is not public

The “public” information is often (based on reading and seeing these kind of requests) for information that is in the RIPE database or similar.

Without a court order from a Dutch court RIPE isn’t going to hand over the non-public information.
