Middle East DNS Forum Cancelled (for now)

The Middle East DNS Forum which was scheduled for next month in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, has been cancelled. The event organisers, which includes ICANN, hope to be able to hold the event later in the year, though no dates have been announced as yet.

This latest announcement of an event cancellation is not surprising. The Saudi government announced yesterday that they were imposing travel restrictions for tourists visiting the country. In the wake of the COVID 19 virus spreading to multiple countries many event organisers have cancelled events. ICANN’s meeting in Mexico and INTA’s annual meeting have both been cancelled, with one moving to a “virtual only” setup and the other being moved to later in the year and at a different location.

It looks like many international events in 2020 are likely to be cancelled or postponed.
