Fundraiser In Memory of Dietmar Stefitz

As most people who are in the domain space in Europe and further afield know Dietmar Stefitz sadly passed away back in December of last year.

Dietmar was one of the nicest people you could ever have met. He was passionate about domains and always had an energy and optimism about him that was infectious. He loved domains and loved welcoming people to his events in his adopted home of Valencia, Spain.

When Dietmar asked you to come to an event or help moderate a panel or two it was impossible to say no. How could you? It was Dietmar!

To give you a flavour of the man have a listen back to an interview Conn did with him a couple of years back.

Dietmar ran Domaining Spain before he morphed that into Domaining Europe, which took it to places like Berlin and the Hague before the event was acquired by NamesCon. He was also known in the ICANN community and attended several of the ICANN meetings in Europe and further afield.

Others have written at greater length about Dietmar and the impact that he made on them:

One of Dietmar’s longtime friends has organised a GoFundMe to raise funds to help his widow. Full details here.

Dietmar will be missed.
