IGF 2023 Call For Proposals

This year’s IGF is being held in Kyoto, Japan.

The call for session proposals is now open. This year’s theme is “The Internet We Want – Empowering All People”.

If you’re interested in proposing a session full details on the process is available here.

The deadline for submissions is May 19th at 2359 UTC.

The event will be “hybrid” but depending on your location the timezone differences could pose challenges (Kyoto is 9 hours ahead of Ireland, so many of the sessions would be in the middle of the night for me at least!).

I’ve attended several of the IGF meetings over the past few years and found them to be quite interesting, though the focus is very different from most of the events that I’d normally attend. IGFs tend to be more dominated by government and civil society, though there is always some industry involvement its much lower key.
