ICANN and DNS-OARC Heading to Vietnam

ICANN and DNS-OARC will be holding a week of events in Vietnam this September.

The week of DNS related events will be split out into three separate events:

  • Monday 4th September – A Day of DNS Abuse Discussions. The focus will be centred around the current discussions on amendments to both the registrar and registry contracts.
  • Tuesday 5th September – DNS Symposium – the theme for the event will be “The Integration of DNS with Emerging Technologies”
  • Wednesday 6th September & Thursday 7th September – OARC 41

The event will be held both “in person” and “online”. Putting the DNS Symposium and OARC together makes a lot of sense, as the audiences for both events would be very similar. Whether or not the audience for the DNS Abuse event overlaps as much, however, is debatable, as the discussion seems to be more focussed on policy and contractual issues rather than operational and technical ones.

Registration is open now and is free.

The venue for the events is the Meliá Danang Beach which seems to be very reasonably priced.

Further details of the event, including a detailed agenda, should be available here from mid-August onwards.
