Noss Steps Down as Tucows CEO

November 8, 2025 by Michele Neylon Leave a Comment

Elliot Noss has been CEO of Tucows for a quarter of a century and has been with the company for almost 30 years. Yesterday he announced that he was stepping aside as CEO and that he would be succeeded by David Woroch.

Noss has been focussed on Ting, Tucows’ fibre broadband business, for the last few years and will continue to work with that division of the company in an advisory capacity. He will also continue to be a member of the Tucows board, as well as an investor in the company.

Elliot was a strong advocate for a free and open internet and was a regular attendee and speaker at ICANN meetings and in other fora up until the last couple of years when his focus shifted to fibre.

So what will Tucows look like under new leadership?

The new CEO is David Woroch, who has been with the company for the last 25 years and currently heads up the domains business for the group. From what I have seen David is primarily focussed on the business aspects of domains and isn’t quite as vocal as his predecessor, which might suit the company’s investors.

Andrew goes into a bit more detail.

The company’s official announcement is here and the recording of the recent earnings call which includes remarks from Noss about his departure is here.
