France Passes The One Million Mark

The .fr registry (AFNIC) had a milestone a few days ago.

They’ve now got over one million domains registered!

While that may seem like a significant number it pales in comparison to the figure of DENIC or Nominet. However, if you compare .fr to one of its European neighbours like Ireland, with barely 90k domains it’s still impressive.

The bizarre thing is that AFNIC didn’t bother informing registrars of the milestone. (Or if they did we didn’t get the email!)
