AFNIC Partner With 16 New TLD Applicants

AFNIC have announced that they are partnering with 16 new TLD applicants.

The press release does not reveal who those applicants are, but it does hint at the type of applications that are involved:

With diverse mission and dimension, these projects, led by local public authorities, companies and associations, will contribute to the evolution of the Internet in France.

AFNIC had previously made public its connections with the bid for .paris, so the other 15 are probably going to include several other .city or .region applications. A few .brand applications in there wouldn’t be too surprising either.

I guess we’ll have to wait until either the applicants themselves announce or the “big reveal” on June 13.
