Domaining Americas to be Held in Rio

Domaining Americas logo

Domaining Americas will be held in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, over the weekend of October 6th and 7th.

The event will be focussed on domains in the Latin American and Caribbean region, so probably more on country codes than gTLDs. It’s the first big domaining event to be held in the region that I’m aware of, so it’s sure to be of interest to anyone with an interest in the region.

The preliminary schedule has a broad range of topics including:

  • Marketing
  • Domain brokers
  • Privacy
  • Social media marketing
  • ICANN
  • Registrars
  • Domain investing in LATAM
  • Geo domains
  • Blockchain and crypto

Speakers already confirmed include several familiar faces from the region and further afield.

Of course one of the key reasons to attend events like this is to meet other people and mingle and network. The venue for this event looks really nice – the Grand Hyatt Rio de Janeiro. And it’s in Rio, which is meant to be a fantastic city. (I’ve only ever seen its airport!)

Ticket pricing is currently $475, but will rise to $699 after September 1st. I’m not sure what kind of rate they might have negotiated with the venue hotel, but their standard rate is a very affordable €100 (give or take) per night.
