Olivier Crépin-Leblond Awarded by ICANN

The ICANN meeting taking place this week is “virtual” so several of the more formal ceremonies which would normally be part of the event are not taking place, or at least not in their normal format. While if the meeting was being held face to face there would have been a short ceremony to announce the awarding of the “Community Excellence Award” that couldn’t happen this time round so instead it was announced electronically.

This year’s recipient of the award is Olivier Crépin-Leblond, who was chosen by a panel of representatives from across the ICANN Community.

Olivier Crépin-Leblond has been involved in ICANN and other internet governance bodies for over a decade and has held a variety of positions with ICANN over the years.

So what is this award?

The Community Excellence Award honors members of the ICANN community who have invested in consensus-based solutions and contributed in a substantive way to policymaking within the ICANN ecosystem.
