INTA like so many other organisations has been holding events online since the last year. Their annual conference, which normally attracts thousands of trademark professionals from the four corners of the globe, is being held this year online, but with some small offline and in person events.
However during the official opening ceremony of the 2021 conference INTA’s head honcho Etienne Sanz de Acedo announced that next year’s event will be held in person in Washington DC. According to a piece in World Trademark Review INTA plans to continue offering an online element next year, but the focus will be firmly back on the in person element:
“While the current meeting is a full-fledged virtual event and inching back into ‘in person’ with limited-capacity mini-conferences, next year, we’re in effect reversing the formula, with a full-fledged onsite meeting plus virtual components,” he stated. “The 2022 Annual Meeting marks a return to our legacy as the world’s largest in-person gathering of brand professionals and affirms our strategic decision to combine the best of both worlds – in-person plus virtual – into our events moving forward. This hybrid formula works, advancing the association into the future and accommodating different schedules, budgets, personal preferences and other circumstances.”World Trademark Review
INTA’s 2022 annual conference is scheduled to be held from 30th April 2022 to May 4th 2022 at the Walter E Washington Convention Center. One of the good things about Washington DC is that there’s no shortage of hotels to cater for all tastes and budgets!
