Gandi Merges with TWS to Form “Your.Online”

March 1, 2023 by Michele Neylon Leave a Comment

French hosting provider and domain name registrar Gandi has merged with Dutch hosting provider TWS (Total Web Solutions).

Over the past couple of years TWS has been expanding quite aggressively via acquisitions in the European market. However it looks like the Gandi deal is the biggest one they’ve been involved with so far. Instead of simply slotting Gandi into the existing TWS stable of companies it looks like they decided to create a whole new entity “Your.Online”.

Gandi has been around a long time – with its origins going back to 2000. As of 2023 the company had 150 staff spread across three countries and over 350k clients. The company’s revenues topped €50 million in 2022.

TWS is a newcomer on the hosting scene, founded in 2017. However in its short history it expanded quite quickly to include multiple brands from across Europe including Yourhosting, Versio, RealHosting and Reviced Cloud Services.

There’s a little more information in the official press release, but it’s very short on details. Gandi’s founder Stephan Ramoin will still be involved in the new venture and it sounds like Gandi will continue to exist as a brand, which makes sense.

Over the past few years a number of pan-European hosting groups have emerged including Miss Group, Team Blue and others. Their ranks are now joined by Your.Online. While GoDaddy might be the single biggest registrar on the planet there are still quite a few companies in the space. Could any of them grow big enough to topple GD?
