RIPE Chair and Vice Chair Nominations Open

February 17, 2025 by Michele Neylon

RIPE’s NomCom has formally opened the call for nominations for the positions of RIPE Chair and Vice Chair.

The essence of the role is summarised in a single sentence:

“The RIPE chair ensures that the RIPE community functions well.”

While RIPE 714 does elaborate more on that concept, it is the core of the role.

Full details about the application process, as well as the roles can be found here.

The roles are paid, as the Chair’s position is viewed as being a full-time job, while that of vice-chair is, theoretically, 20% of a working week. Full details of the renumeration outlined here (PDF).

Any member of the RIPE community may be nominated for either position. Self-nominations are also permitted. NomCom members and members of the RIPE NCC Executive Board are not eligible to be considered.

The deadline for applications is March 30th 2025.

EDIT – as was pointed out to me the VC position is 20% not 20 hours per week – apologies!
