ICANN’s New CEO Is Swedish Telecoms Regulator Göran Marby

ICANN's new CEO has been announced today - it is Göran Marby from the Swedish telecoms regulator. Marby had been Director General of Post and Telecom Agency, PTS in Sweden, where he'd held the post since 2010. EURid, who run the .eu registry, have finally been delegated .ею (Cyrillic for .eu). Punycode xn--e1a4c. One of the things that EURid is chartered to do under its contract to the European Commission was to get the extension in scripts other than Latin. ICANN Cancels Meeting In Panama City Due To Zika Virus

Earlier this evening ICANN announced that the scheduled meeting in June 2016 will not be held in Panama City. The cancellation of the meeting and its change of location is due to concerns related to the recent outbreak of the Zika Virus. IEDR Issue 2015 Domain Registration Figures

The IEDR have issued details of the 2015 domain name registrations. Overall the .ie namespace has grown. As with previous years the more densely populated areas of Dublin, Cork and Galway accounted for a higher number of domains than other parts of the country. Nominet Publish Lyons Report And Board Response
