Registrars Resorting To Comment Spam? TodayNic Using Dodgy Marketing

The competition between the various ICANN accredited registrars has been tough for quite some time.
All you need to do is look at the pricing being offered by some of the companies, along with the various other enticements they use to attract new registrants and resellers, to get an idea of how tough the market has become.

However I never thought I would see an ICANN accredited registrar resorting to comment spam.

Unfortunately one registrar does not seem to see spamming blogs with their special offers as being an issue.

Todaynic have attempted to spam this site and several others that I run.
On each occassion they’ve targetted posts related to domains (which on this site wouldn’t take much effort)

The question is who can do anything about it?

Is ICANN in a position to give a registrar engaged in this sort of activity a slap on the wrists?
If ICANN can’t take action against them, is there someone else who can?

So you want me to edit my article about your company spamming this and other sites I edit?

    Why should I do that?

Your company is still spamming. I have removed spam comments from several sites in the last couple of weeks, so I honestly don’t think that you have changed your tactics.

Of course each and every time I get spammed by your company now I will write about it and point people to your comment.

    Regards

    Michele

  3. The following is the comment about us in CastleCpos:

From Todaynic in particular we are seeing response times of under 3 hours to shut down as many as 1,000 reported sites on one request. Spammed sites are often shut down by this registrar preemptively before we can even report them. They have proven to be star performers in shutting out the spammers abusing their service.

The Complainterator team is surprised to see no acknowledgment of the changed circumstances from Knujon. Surely when the registrars respond so fully and effectively, Knujon should update their report and give the registrars the credit they deserve.

This should be helpful to make any judges on us,
    Thank you
