RegisterFly – Coming Back To An Inbox Near You

August 3, 2007 by Michele Neylon

RegisterFly

Just when I thought I’d heard the end of Registerfly …..

It looks like a mailserver in RegisterFly was rebooted last night / this morning, as I’m being flooded with mails that I should have received towards the end of last year.

It’s kind of amusing when I think of the headaches that they caused for the industry over the last few months and now they’re filling up my inbox even though they’re no longer really around to do it ….

Mail servers – ya gotta love ’em!

Actually, this has nothing to do with a mail server. (The date was probably typed wrong; Medina isn’t very smart) I have insider information, since I still have many close friends in the industry that respect me quite a bit, that Kevin Medina is actually trying to sell the products and services that he no longer has access to for obvious reasons. He’s been trying to set up domain reseller accounts to sell customers new names and also get SSL Certs on credit. It appears that he was finally able to, with possibly a fake name, get a block of SSL Certs and is trying to market them to [ex]customers.

Also check the new Cert for Registerfly.com. You’ll see that it was issued by Registerfly.com to itself on July 26 of 2007.

Nothing like a criminal trying to sell certificates of trust.

I’m continuing along on my path of bringing down the man that hurt so many. Since I can help I see no reason not to do so. Hopefully customers will, at least, get their money back thanks to all of the class action lawsuits.

I hadn’t noticed the SSL cert.

The odd thing about these mails is that they all point to 404s eg.
    http://www.registerfly.com/reseller/ssl/

In fact I can’t find any links to the reseller area on the site anymore or in the user account area

The email headers aren’t that helpful either …
