RegistrarStats, which is run by eNom / DemandMedia, re-opened yesterday.
The site is no longer free (even though there’s no indication of pricing on the site) with prices starting at $500 / month with a minimum commit of 3 months.
Whether the reports being offered are any different or any better than those that were available previously is not clear.
Sounds a bit expensive but then crunching all those zones daily is expensive.

It’s significantly more expensive than any of the other solutions on the market that I’m aware of with the exception of NetCraft – and what they do is quite different

Yep Michele,
It looks very interesting but there is very little that cannot be done elsewhere and Dailychanges is doing it to some extent. Netcraft’s data is focused on web hosting but can be hard to understand and put in context. Producing data is the easy part. Making it useful and understandable is another. The one thing that this domain name tracking process does is produce a lot of data.
The main problem with Webhosting.info is that it is over 3 million domains in error on its .com count alone and as a result it is not providing accurate data on hosters. If it is basing its registrar figures on this faulty data rather than on ICANN data then it has a bigger problem.
It is a scary thought being the only show in town. 🙂 I had better upgrade the P4 3G box on which the site runs.
Gives me the impression they’re looking to compete with DomainTools down the line.
DailyChanges has made some good info available after the revamp.

I guess it depends what information you find useful… DomainTools has got *some* info that I find helpful, but I’ve always found the presentation of the data awkward .. WebHosting.info still lists companies in the wrong countries and doesn’t “know” about some TLDs ..

Yep, it really depends on what you’re looking for. I’ve found DailyChanges better presented than DomainTools.
Personally I mix and match, each site nails one aspect
DomainTools has got *some* info that I find helpful, but I’ve always found the presentation of the data awkward ..
