Chilean Registry Drops Registrant Update Fee

NIC Chile has updated their domain  transfer policies.

Changing the  registrant / holder of a .cl domain name is no longer a billable action effective October 1 2012.

Previously the change of registrant / holder, sometimes referred to as a “trade”, also prolonged the registration period by 2 years. This is no longer the case and the domain expiry will no longer change.
