GoDaddy CEO to Retire in December

August 23, 2017 by Michele Neylon

GoDaddy CEO Blake Irving is to retire at the end of the year. Irving, who is 58, will continue to be a member of the GoDaddy board until June 2018.

Yep, after 35 years of late nights and long travel in #tech it’s time to focus on the @GoDaddy board and new adventures w/ my wife Carol. https://t.co/DQlH1KHsyr

Fortune magazine has more  details of Blake’s retirement.

He’ll be replaced at the helm by Scott Wagner, who is the company’s president and COO.

Under Irving’s tenure the company has grown its revenues significantly, undergone extensive expansion as well as acquisitions such as HEG.

All the domain and hosting bloggers have been covering the story since the announcement last night, while the mainstream media coverage has also been pretty comprehensive.
