RIPE Board Election Remember to Vote!

RIPE NCC logo (2015 version)

While the RIPE meeting like so many other events was forced to go virtual, there will be an election next week for a number of positions on the RIPE Executive Board. Voting is open to RIPE members. Full details of the General Meeting are here.

Next week’s GM includes an election to fill three seats and there are currently 12 candidates running.

You can read their bios here.

Over the past couple of weeks one of the candidates has been very “active” on multiple RIPE member mailing lists.

While activity on a mailing list is normally not such a bad thing, unfortunately the person in question seems to enjoy making wild accusations of other members, including me personally. He’s also taken to essentially spamming multiple lists, switching email addresses when he gets moderated and generally ignoring pretty much every rule of civil discourse and engagement.

I’d hope that RIPE members take the time to register to vote and to vote based on merit. With 12 candidates running for 3 positions I’d hope that people will be able to make sane choices!
