EURid, who operate the .eu ccTLD domain registry, have released their Q1 2020 report.
The report covers the period up until the end of March 2020 (obviously), so it does not show the full impact of COVID-19 on domain registrations or renewals. The report for Q2 should make for interesting reading!
So what does the report show for Q1?
Registrations are up 15% compared to Q4 2019. EURid attributes some of that growth to COVID related registrations as well as promotional activity in Portugal, which saw that country’s growth in .eu domain names rise by 64%.
The .eu ccTLD currently stands at around 3.6 million names which makes it the 5th largest country code domain name (if you exclude .tk).
