IEDR To Offer More Frequent Zone Reloads

IEDR have announced that from Monday September 24th at 1am the .ie zone will be reloaded once every two hours. EU Registry Reports Strong Growth And High Renewal Rates

Eurid, the registry for the .eu domain name, has released their quarterly results today. The registry's performance over the last quarter has been strong with registration rates up 7.6% compared to the same period last year. IEDR have informed registrars that they will be taking all registration services offline this evening from around 7pm until midnight. The IEDR are currently experiencing another outage. IEDR had previously suffered an outage from lunchtime on Saturday until 6am yesterday morning. Cloudnames CEO Expects ICANN To Rewrite Internet Protocols

While most of the comments on the SSAC report on "dotless domains" are supportive of the recommendations one of them is completely opposed. IEDR is currently suffering a major outage. Since this afternoon none of the IEDR websites have been online, whois for the .ie cctld has been offline and all other services including registrations and updates have been unavailable. Google Withdraws 3 New TLD Applications

4 new tld applications including 3 from Google have been withdrawn

Google has withdrawn 3 of its new TLD applications. Kiwi.nz Registrations Opening September 11th

Chilean Domain Registry Launch 1 Year Registrations

The Chilean domain name registry (.cl), which is celebrating its 25 years in existence has launched one year .cl domain name registrations. As of September 1st 2012 it is possible to register .cl domain names for either 2 years or 1 year.
