Cayman Islands Joins GAC

Seemingly the Cayman Islands has appointed a representative to ICANN's GAC - where all the governments hang out. Their appointee, who should be attending the meeting in Toronto next week, is Mr Samuel Rose. Mr Rose hails from the Caymans' Ministry of Finance, Tourism and Development. .pw ccTLD Being Relaunched by Directi

Directi have announced their plans to relaunch the .pw ccTLD officially next week at the ICANN meeting in Toronto. The country code .pw was originally assigned to Palau, which is a small island in the Pacific (I had to look it up!) ICANN Publish New TLD Timeline

Last night ICANN published a timeline for the new TLD process moving forward. They also revealed that there were currently 500 new TLD applications that had not been completed. Whether they will be completed by 2359 UTC tonight remains to be seen, but I doubt if they'll all get done in less than 24 hours. ICANN 45 Toronto Venue Announced

ICANN normally announces details of the next meeting towards the end of the most recent one, so at the end of ICANN 43 they published information on ICANN 44. However for ICANN 45 (Toronto) people can already peruse the meeting site and book hotel rooms etc., The venue for the 45th meeting is the Westin Harbour Castle in Toronto which has 977 rooms.
