So Who Exactly Is Bob Recstrum?

If you’re an ICANN “insider” and use Twitter then you’ve probably come across the user account @BobRecstrum, which is an obvious parody of Rod Beckstrom.

The account has been active for the last few months (since March 26th 2011 according to the Twitter timeline and this site)

I’ve spoken to several people who might know who is behind it, but nobody is willing to admit they are, which is kind of understandable ..

So who could it be?

Whoever it is follows ICANN activity very closely. They’ve either been at the public meetings over the last few months or have been following them remotely.

The tweets are usually pretty scathing, but quite witty.. I’d love to know what the real Rod Beckstrom thinks of it, though I doubt he’d say anything “on the record” 🙂

Will we ever find out, or is this likely to be one of the “great mysteries” of the internet?
