Nominet, who operate .uk, have announced plans for a number of “roundtables” on their “direct.uk” proposal, which we covered recently.

There will be events held in London, Cardiff , Manchester and Belfast.

An “open house” is also planned for 8 November in London.

Full details of the various events are on the Nominet site

Later in November Nominet will be holding their annual registrar conference which appears to be both shorter than previous years and have the direct.uk as the only item on the agenda.

They’ve also published an FAQ on their proposals

And about time, the majority of countries have their own direct extension, so why not the UK.
Just wonder how this will effect the current .co.uk extension against the pricing of the .uk extension.
Time will tell, or is it just another addition to the list of new TLDs and ccTLDs ?
