ICANN’s Technical Team Hiring in Uruguay

ICANN Logo

ICANN’s “Office of the CTO”, which of course ends up being called “OCTO”, does quite a bit of technical outreach around the world. They’ve recently announced that they are expanding the team in the Latin American and Caribbean region.

The new role will be based out of ICANN’s office in Uruguay, though I’d suspect that whoever gets the gig will end up spending a lot of their time on the road.

The job title says it all: “Technical Engagement Specialist” and you’d need to have a pretty robust technical background, combined with local knowledge if you hope to get the gig.

Reporting to the Vice President for Technical Engagement, the successful candidate will support Technical Engagement activities at a regional level in coordination with other regional engagement functions of ICANN, particularly the Global Stakeholder Engagement and Government Engagement teams. While working closely with the entire CTO’s Office team, this role implies an active involvement in delivery of technical training and capacity building program across the Latin America and the Caribbean (LAC) region.

The successful candidate will have a pretty full schedule if the job description is anything to go by!

There’s no indication of the salary, but I suspect the pay isn’t horrible 🙂
