Strickling To Crocker – ICANN Needs To Do More To Protect IP

October 5, 2012 by Michele Neylon

The US Department of Commerce's Larry Strickling has written to ICANN again. This time it's about new TLDs, the RAA, law enforcement and trademark protections in new TLDs. ICANN's new CEO Fadi Chehadé started working full-time for ICANN yesterday. His first order of business? Rejigging the organisation's management structures and bringing in new execs. Cloudnames CEO Expects ICANN To Rewrite Internet Protocols

September 9, 2012 by Michele Neylon

While most of the comments on the SSAC report on "dotless domains" are supportive of the recommendations one of them is completely opposed. Rolf Larsen of CloudNames wants SSAC to recommend a rewrite of the protocols!     Instead of trying to force the dotbrand owners to not use their TLD like they would want to, why not recommend changes to the Internet protocols? He also … [Read more...] about Cloudnames CEO Expects ICANN To Rewrite Internet Protocols

August 27, 2012 by Michele Neylon

ICANN's security and stability committee (SSAC) recently issued a report on "dotless" domain names.
