Chinese Registrar Bizcn Hit With Breach Notice

Chinese registrar BizCN.com has been hit with a breach notice by ICANN.

The registrar might not have exactly a “stellar” reputation in certain circles as it’s often associated with “rogue online pharmacies” and other forms of online abuse.

ICANN’s letter to BizCN outlines a number of issues associated with a couple of domains specifically rapetube.org and onlinepharmacy4.org

It looks like the registration data is “dodgy” and they’ve been suspending and un-suspending the domains without actually addressing the issues..

Of course, as has happened with other registrars, once a registrar becomes the focus of ICANN Compliance’s attention other issues are found… In the case of Bizcn they’re apparently using the wrong version of the ICANN logo, aren’t listing fees properly and a few other things.

You can read the full letter below:

The registrar will need to resolve all the issues within the next couple of weeks or they could end up losing their accreditation.

  1. But see ICANN Ombudsman’s Compliance Compliance Complaint Investigation Report https://omblog.icann.org/?p=1023:

“I also mention one registrar in particular which has been openly criticised, being Bizcn.com. As part of the monitoring by Compliance, scorecards of requests are kept. Compliance informed me that Bizcn.com is a registrar that is prompt & cooperative with Compliance inquiries, including Whois inaccuracy complaints.”
