November 26, 2012 by Michele Neylon

Under.me launched a few months ago as an online underwear shop. It's backed by Bar Refaeli, the Israeli model, and offers a range of underwear for both men and women. Over the last couple of days they've been promoting a new delivery service … [Read more...] about Under.me Promotes Deliver.me – But They Don’t Have The Domain!

Transparency Fail – Nominet’s Registrar Meeting On Direct UK

November 21, 2012 by Michele Neylon

I wrote about my issues with the proposal a while back and Edwin Hayward has collected pretty much all references to it in both blogs and mainstream media here. While I was not able to attend in person I was trying to follow the … [Read more...] about Transparency Fail – Nominet’s Registrar Meeting On Direct UK

Help.me Launched To Help Sandy Victims

November 8, 2012 by Michele Neylon

The .me registry launched help.me earlier this afternoon. The site's concept is dead simple - to help people affected by the Sandy super-storm in New York and along the US Eastern seaboard. It's not a complicated or "sexy" site. It doesn't have to be. What it is, however, is a fantastic example of a domain name being put to work to benefit fellow human beings. The guys in … [Read more...] about Help.me Launched To Help Sandy Victims

Right Of The Dot Partner With Escrow.com To Offer New TLD Private Auction Solution

November 1, 2012 by Michele Neylon

If you have a look at the new TLD applications you'll quickly see that there are quite a few in competition with each other. ICANN will be sorting out some form of "draw" to see who goes first and there's also going to be objections, string contention and government "advice". But one of the things that's been made clear for a very long time is that applicants would need … [Read more...] about Right Of The Dot Partner With Escrow.com To Offer New TLD Private Auction Solution

CNNIC To Implement Alternative WHOIS

October 27, 2012 by Michele Neylon

CNNIC, the .cn registry, are to implement an alternative to traditional whois. According to an announcement by ICANN's Kurt Pritz, the Chinese organisation will be implementing a "RESTful" Whois server implementation. This is based on ongoing work within the IETF in the rather oddly named "weirds" project. Of course "weirds" is actually an acronym for: "Web Extensible … [Read more...] about CNNIC To Implement Alternative WHOIS
