Dot Nxt Cancelled

August 23, 2012 by Michele Neylon

Rumours were flying around last night that the Dot Nxt conference scheduled for London next week had been cancelled again.

Michael Berkens posted about the rumour over on his blog.

Now this appears to have been confirmed by one of the attendees:

It’s official. The Dot-Nxt conference has been cancelled. No refunds. Very disappointing #Fail #NewgTLDs #ICANN

— ARI Services (@ARIservices) August 23, 2012

Cancelling at this short notice will mean that a lot of attendees will have already booked flights and hotels, some of which will be non-refundable!

There hasn’t been an official announcement from the event organiser as yet, though I suspect there will be within the next 24 hours.

 UPDATE 1900:

The conference organiser has posted a full explanation of the cancellation citing low attendance and sponsorship.
